I happened to discover a little gem of a shopping portal – Gadgets.in. I stumbled upon it, thanks to the friendly folks at Reliance’s iStore on M G Road, Bangalore. The reason: my Macbook’s problematic LCD screen, as whined earlier. I had actually bought an LCD screen from the US-based Powermedic.com for US$150 and had it shipped by priority delivery (US$50) – my total cost – just over 10k. It turned out to be a faulty one and the folks at iStore were decent enough to help me out, even though I had not bought my Mac there (can this happen if it were a PC? Doubt it). They put me on to Gadgets.in and the whole experience was smooth and hassle free. Both the online and the phone experience was surprisingly glitch free – my LCD screen arrived within 3 days and the iStore guys fixed my Mac overnight. Couldn’t help recalling the cliched ‘people are our biggest assets’ quote.
In both these companies, it was those individuals who made a difference to my perception about the brand. In the case of iStore, they understand what it means to deal with an Apple fan – those who seek the seamless, everything-works-fine experience of the brand even in the retail outlet. Sadly, I can’t say the same about the other Apple Re-sellers in Bangalore.

I completely agree with you on ‘people are our biggest asset’ and its all about how one is taken care off after the purchase has been made. Especially the Apple fans. Its what it takes for one to decide if he is a fan or not. Nice post. I am going to check out Gadgets.in right away.
And its a good idea to get the Apple Protection Plan. Just in case.
