yes, getting an AE is always needed specially on business. Is like a plan B in every move or decision you make..

Thanks for another relevant post. A former boss once had a remarkable insight; we function exactly one level below our competence. Account management does the despatch job, planners account management’s, and creative gets relegated to the planning role.

Point is, account handling is a highly valued competency and one that this industry needs more than ever, as we go forward. In no small part, because we need to know how to account for our ideas. But are we willing to rise to the challenge?

Glad that some one wrote about account management… when i was planning to get in to this industry.. the discouraging words i heard are the same – not credit only artist and designers get the credit blah blah…. now i’m in.. no regret!! nice post!

Really felt nice after reading your post. I am in account management and I have always seen advertising folks snigger and call us glorified postmen. Non advertising folks, my father for instance is still not clear as to what I do in an agency. I dont write, I dont visualise, I dont make ads, then what exactly do I do?.
I think that being in account management is tough. You need to meet deadlines to keep the client satisfied, push deadlines to keep the creatives happy, complete tons of artwork in a day, try and have zero outstandings.. In the middle of all that you also want to write a great brief and inspire ideas.. And we are perceived to be paper pushers, unfair isnt it?..

Thanks, Amrita. BTW, have the artworks gone out today?:)
